The CasaTunes 8X8 music server combines 8 streams of high definition audio with an internal 8X8 software matrix switch. You can listen to any of the 8 streams on any combination of the 8 outputs on the software matrix switch. The outputs of the software matrix switch are pre-amplified, volume adjusted line level outputs, and are typically connected to one or more multi-channel power amplifiers.
The CasaTunes server includes four 12V output triggers used to control powering the multi-channel power amplifiers in and out of standby mode.
Each stream behaves as an independent, stand alone music player. You can listen to disc music, networked music, Internet radio and music, SONOS music, as well as stream music from a Mac or iOS device using Apple AirPlay.
The CasaTunes server includes a built-in 500GB drive for storing your own music collections, enough storage for over 100,000 mp3 songs!
The CasaTunes server provides many advanced capabilities, including Alexa voice control, native Apps for Android and iOS phones and tablets, integration with SONOS, advanced room grouping, waking up and falling asleep listening to your favorite tunes, custom doorbell chimes, seamless integration with AV Receivers, and much more.
CasaTunes music servers provide out-of-the-box support for Control4, Compass Control, HDL, KNX, RTI, and URC control systems.
For a complete whole house audio system, simply add one or more multi-channel amplifiers, such as the CasaTunes CT-1240A, to the CasaTunes 8X8 music server.
NOTE: The software matrix switch has an inherent latency of about 100-150ms and therefore is not recommended for distributing audio from a TV or video source. When distributing audio from a TV or video source, we recommend you use a CasaTunes (hardware based) matrix amplifier, such as the CT-6X6MA or CT-12X8MA.
